Just thought i'd ask!

Depends on the country. Here in the US, they get zilch. Some olympians get the privilege of training at the OTC's, but they do not get paid for it. Some have to actually pay to train there.

yeah l agree with the previous answer. there are cases when you have to pay for training, accommodation and everything else that comes with it.

As an Olympic hopeful, l am rather familiar with the plaguing fees associated with training & preparation for the games. Though there r national facilities such as the Olympic Training Center (like the one located in Colorado Springs, CO), which provide some minimal boarding and/or training facilities for athletes, most athletes r forced to pay their own way to the top, which gets extremely expensive. There r always grants, partial funding from particular national governing bodies for ur individual sport, sponsors, & other outside modes of funding. But neither the country, nor the Olympic committee have anything to do with payment for training. Most athletes r even forced to pay their way to the Olympics themselves, only re-compensated if they manage medal. It is the sad, but expensive truth.

No way. It all comes out of their own pocket or if they're lucky they're sponsored. Except in some countries (especially communist ones! where they're paid.
Upon being accepted to the Games team they often get a small sum of money and during the Games are paid everyday (because they're having time off work). And also the national sporting body pays for all Olympic expenses like flights and uniforms.
