2010 Canada Olympics

However long it has been since he was born + 2 years!

It took Whistler 44 years to see its Olympic dream as they prepared for 10 years to host the 1976 Winter Olympics. Only to see Denver win the vote in 1972. Ironically the voters turned down the games over environmental concerns & fear of high costs. Vancouver was asked if they would like to hold the games & they declined thus having the IOC to go with Innsbruck,Austria.

Problem was this Montreal had all-ready won the bid for the '76 Summer Olympics & the IOC was loathe to award the same country both games.

Again Vancouver bid on the 1980 Olympics only to have to withdraw before the vote (Lake Placid) over the fact in 1974 the government of British Colombia refused to support the bid meaning the games would of had to been held on private lands.

If u want to get technical it was really 37 years as they where awarded the games on 2,July 2003.
