What a great idea, the torch arriving in the TARDIS would be great, but l would not expect the Doctor to light the torch, that is the job of an Olympian Athlete.

What a great idea. Maybe the TARDIS could appear out of the pool just in front of Phelps and stop him winning...........8 times.
Or a race between the TARDIS and Bolt, i'm sure that guy can run so fast he can go back in time and then he could win all the previous 100m(except Linford's)

Something could go wrong with the flame reaching to make lighting of the torch. Suddenly the Tardis could drop out of the night sky to land in a specific spot. The Doctor emerges and with the help of his sonic screwdriver sets everything back on track. But before he departs out of the Tardis comes a musician, then another and another. Along the lines of clowns coming out of a circus car. Until the area is full of world famous UK musicians ready to rock.
