Well, they have yet to decide about where the 2016 Olympics will be. If Chicago is picked then there is no way New Oleans will get 2020. You will just have to wait & see!
They choose the 2016 ones in October 2nd, 2009.
2020 Olympics will be decided sometime is 2013 only. Potential bids r so far: South Africa: Cape Town, Durban Asia: Busan, South Korea, Delhi, India, Doha, Qatar, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Europe: Baku, Azerbaijan, Istanbul, Turkey, Prague, Czech Republic; Italy, Romagna or Rome, North America: United States, Birmingham, Alabama, Boston, Massachusetts, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, Monterrey, Mexico, Toronto, Ontario, Canada South America: Lima Peru

not a chance. By the time the olympics come around. 5 hurricanes will have destroyed everything. Im pretty sure the IOC will not allow the olympics to be held in a place where hurricanes come around all the time. Sorry, but l just isnt an ideal place.

No the games should stay clear of America until they respect their Paralympian athletes.
Making them travel to their game out of their pocket some one said from another question.

l really think either 2016 or 2020 r to soon for the USA to host again given the 2 summer & 2 winter games they have hosted since 1980.. & with the recent problems New Orleans has had would this even be viable?
one of the thing l love about the olympics it the chance to learn more about the host nation, so please lets see it go to a country that has not had them yet. rather than yet another showcase for a country that has already had many opportinities & about which so much is already known..

There is no physical reason the summer Olympics could not be held in New Orleans. The city hosts at least one event larger than the Olympics every year.
However, it is extremely unlikely NOLA will be a choice. That is also true of everywhere on or near the coast in the southeastern USA - including cities like Miami & Houston. The same is true for everywhere in the Caribbean & on the Gulf of Mexico, such as Havana.
The reason is the chance of hurricanes. Despite a prevalent myth, New Orleans is rarely struck by hurricanes. However, the possibility cannot be ruled out & holding the Olympics anywhere in the area would be too risky.
