Yeah, l know that it only comes once in four years, but why the fuss over it?

l know its boring as hell to watch and costs ALOT of money and [most of the so called sports on it are boring and l would not even call them a sport

yeah l agree.. l used to believe in the amateur competition hype & thought of it as opportunity for unknowns & young new competitors to shine without the taint of drugs but then they made more & more excuses to let professionals compete & allowing appeals for drug tests along with lame testing ( not often enough, thurough enough, or enough surprise). no longer is it anything other than over rated world competition which happens all year long every year anyway so why is this special.. & why can a multi million dollar athlete compete yet medals taken from athletes before who made a couple measly bucks in the summer to help pay for food dont get reinstated with medal status. it is all too commercial, too hyped, & too hypicritical for me anymore. the only good l can see in todays world is it can give spotlight to some unpopular sports or little regarded sports & thus an opportunity to gain more interest or involvement in such sports. l mean c'mon, we got millionare athletes, blatant age & gender violations, athletes playing for countries they have never even been to (not to mention the multitude of crossover or multi country people), coaches from one country bought out by rival country, questionable political judging, total disregard for actual competition conditions when selecting city, & to top it all off the cost to taxpayers of host country/city is outrageous. they use excuse it brings in tons of money, but that money goes to private businesses in most situations & not the average dude whose taxes fund the new stadiums, olympic committee bribes, extra services required & etc

Ok l see your point but everyone likes some type of sport or they like some type of hobby olympics are great for some just like soccer or football or cricket or darts or pool or whatever.Is great to others.

The real question here is --- Why is it such a fuss that China is cheating --- It is just a game but people have turned it into a fiasco. Maybe they were cheating because they are the ''Host-Country''.

And yes, why the fuss, there is not even any point in spending money on training the athletes. If we win, we win, nothing comes out of it, only your country going broke.
