l can do a backbend but l can not do a backbend kickover.l can do the kickover when l do it off my mom and dads bed and off the couch but not off the floor or a stool.l do not think my legs are strong enough.What can l do to master the backbend kickover?P.S. We can not afford a gymnastics instructer to teach me how to do it.

that is one of the EASIEST skills in gymnastics. ok so what u do is press ur shoulds away from yourself if ur facing a wall look at something on the wall & try to touch it with ur face. next kick ur leg as hard as u can & straighten out ur shoulders again to go through a handstand position. if that doesnt work try some leg conditioning such as squats, running, mountain climbers, or even jumping on ur bed for a minutes or so. im a level 8 gymnast & this skill will come with time :)

What helps is to walk your feet up against a wall and kick over. Also, stack up a bunch of pads and kick over on that. Keep removing them until you can do it on the floor. It really helps if you push your arm pits out. Also, do a back bend a lift the foot you are going to kick over and hold it there. Good luck!
