We are having a debate and l am given this topic to talk about. So l have to say that the Olympics are a waste of money. l need your help so please give accurate information. Thanks.

Maybe once in a lifetime a person should try to see the olympics in person, but that is about it. l enjoy watching from the comfort of my warm & food-filled house.

l do not think its is. All the money being spent is being put back into the economy. The country that has the Olympics, economically, benefits to a large extent. Large amounts of money are being put into industries and large numbers of jobs are created due to them.
These are both huge benefits. Not only for the country but also the standard of living, of people in that country, increases.

Well if its like the one in Bejing yes. they spent a whole lot of money for it and they could have spent it on helping all the desprate people in China.

one is the money that is spent by the tourists and visitors that helps the local economy.

two the facilities (buildings, swimming pools etc..) will help future athletes.

and if you compare it to say today is Inauguration cost of over 145 million, it is not as big of a waste as that.

No it is not a waste of money.Especially when you consider how hard the athletes train and how much attention the olympics get when put on the t.v, plus the facilities that were used for the olympics then get used for lots of other things after the olympics so the stadium is always being used and not being put to waste

no it is not wast of time other wise the government wont be putting money to the fund towards it
